Hills v Bankstown at Bankstown
Win 85-23
Bankstown Bruins offered very little resistance to a completely dominant Hills Hornets team.
Fresh back from the Victorian Junior Classic, the Hornets were tuned up and ready to go.
It was clear this was going to be a blow-out victory early when the scoreline was at 10-2 just a few minutes into the first quarter. At the point in the play, Jay stole the ball and drove to the basket. Although he missed the shot Will followed up with an uncontested put-back despite three Bankstown players being around the basket.
They just looked on shoulders slumped - it appeared that they had already given up.
The Hornets were seldom troubled, picking apart the Bruins at will. It didn't matter which five players were on with the boys making great decisions on inside passes or kicking out for wide open jump shots. Beyond the arc Jayden and Jay knocked down four out of four three-point shots.
Meanwhile the big men were excellent down low, dominating the scoring and moving the ball nicely to rack up 12 of the team's 19 assists. The bigs scored 55 of the teams 85 points.
This was a brutal performance against Bankstown which was unable to match the skill level at any position and could not keep up with the Hornets team execution.
Next week Hills Hornets play at home from 9am against Manly a team they soundly defeated earlier in the season 63 – 8.
